HILAIRE's thography camille A nude woman sitting on her chair.
Camille HILAIRE (1916-2004) -Although born in 1916 in Metz and supporting the somewhat austere reputation of the Lorraine country, Camille HILAIRE led to a successful artistic career As bright as light. A young admirer of Albrecht Dürer, of which he retained the clear and incisive line, and marked by the brightness of the Italian masters, he enrolled at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris during the black years of the Occupation and began to exhibit at the various Parisian salons.
This great traveler has thus superbly nourished his natural talent of these diverse and exciting peergreinations and, Throughout the century, his painted or woven work expresses the beauty and diversity, from Venice to Normandy, which he particularly loved, from Le Havre to Thionville. Above all, Camille HILAIRE represented the nuanced expression of composition. Thus, starting from effective structures, he held power by color and obtained an admirable and constant sensation of calm, of magnitude, of greatness by translating the patterns and elements, which never prevented him from expressing a burning passion for creation and sharing.
Remarkable were his nudes with perfect curves, lovingly and placed in an environment where Their sensual fullness was imposed as a provocative grace. As for the landscapes, Camille HILAIRE knew by dictating the structure without apparent constraint, their depositor this fresh and piquant green, which often characterized it. Thus, nature and elements would become a pretext where the artist "pushes" the color to get the felt effect.
